Background:
TGI Golf Partnership has appointed Alex Keighley of Huddersfield Golf Club as its new chair, making her the first woman to hold the role in the group’s history. She succeeds Mike Bradley of Hollinwell Golf Club, who steps down after serving four years as chair.
Keighley brings more than two decades of experience as a PGA professional and has served on the TGI Golf board for the past 10 years. She said she looks forward to working more closely with staff and partners to help grow the partnership further.
Keighley turned professional in 2003 and competed on the Ladies European Tour for four years, alongside appearances on other tours. In 2009, she stepped away from tour life to focus on her club career. Three years later, she became Head Professional at Huddersfield Golf Club, at a time when female head professionals were rare in the UK.
She joined TGI Golf soon after and was invited to join its board within three years. As chair, she said her role is to support the executive team, ensure strong governance, and listen to partners’ feedback.
Outgoing chair Mike Bradley praised Keighley’s experience and leadership, noting her long service on the board and involvement within the PGA network. He said the group continues to promote equality, with women also serving as managing director and financial director.
TGI Golf Managing Director Adele McLean welcomed Keighley’s appointment, saying her experience and understanding of the business will help guide the partnership into its next phase of growth across the UK and Ireland.
