Background

Lady Mae, founder of Emerge New Woman, highlighted how women’s mental and emotional health impacts national productivity and called for greater support.

Lady Mae also said that burnout is a major obstacle to women’s productivity. According to her, many women feel overwhelmed or unsuccessful not because of a lack of ability, but due to prolonged emotional and mental exhaustion.

A clinical psychology session led by Dr. Abra Dziedorm reinforced the theme, offering evidence-based insights into burnout, stress management, and the long-term effects of chronic fatigue. Her presentation highlighted the importance of grounding wellness conversations in scientific understanding.

Emerge New Woman operates on three core pillars, Healing, Empowerment, and Reintegration, which guide its programmes. To date, the NGO has invested over one million Ghana cedis in psychoeducation, seed funding, business skills training, and support services for women.

As part of the conference’s economic support, 30 women received assistance. Twelve shared 50,000 cedis in seed funding, while 18 received business equipment and supplies worth about 100,000 cedis.

Lady Mae also launched her second book, Save You First, encouraging women to care for themselves instead of always putting others first.

Guest speaker Nana Ama McBrown told participants to stay active and keep working to make the most of opportunities in 2026.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Rev. Dr. Christie Doe Tetteh of Solid Rock Chapel International, Apostle Felicia Acheampong of Aroma of Christ, Rosemund Obeng representing the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, veteran actress Akofa Edjeani Asiedu, gospel musician Obaapa Christy, and other media and creative industry personalities.

Founded by Marian Assibi, popularly known as Lady Mae, Emerge New Woman focuses on mental health advocacy, economic empowerment, and social reintegration for Ghanaian women. The Renewed Woman Conference combines wellness with practical economic support, showing that women’s wellbeing is important for both communities and the nation.
