Helen Watson, a veteran leader in UK finance, will step into the role of chair at Rothschild & Co’s UK wealth management business. Watson has served as CEO for the past 10 years and will continue to support the management team, maintain client relationships, and contribute to the firm’s group responsibilities. Watson will also remain co-chair of the diversity, inclusion, and balance steering committee, a role in which she has championed inclusive workplace practices and promoted women’s leadership across the organization. She will keep working on the supervisory board and group partners committee, helping guide important decisions at the top level. Her successor, James Morrell, has been with Rothschild & Co since 2010 and will take on the role of CEO from 1 January 2026, pending regulatory approval. Morrell, who previously led the front office and served as deputy CEO, will oversee operations across London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, and Guernsey. Watson emphasized the importance of strong mentorship and collaboration, saying, “I have worked with James for over two decades and have no doubt the business will go from strength to strength under his leadership.
